THE PARTNERSHIP
The DeCiTeL project (“Democratic Citizenship Teaching and Learning”) is an Erasmus teacher academy coordinated by Boğaziçi University of Istanbul. The first project to involve the EIP Lab as full partner, its partnership also includes DARE Network, the European Parents Association, Hogeschool Gent, University of Ioannina, OBESSU, Université Côte d’Azur, UNIMORE, Universitatea Politehnica Bucuresti, Vienna Forum for Democracy and Human Rights and IC Molassana e Prato, with Centrul National de Politici Si Evaluare in Educatie as associated partner.
THE PROJECT
Established in 2025, DeCiTeL aims to build a sustainable alliance of teacher training institutions able to provide reference models, joint European degrees, learning materials, new curricula elements and innovative training courses for teachers of early childhood, primary and secondary schools involved in the teaching of democratic Citizenship Education and, more in general, in the development of social, relational and civic competences for children and adolescents.
DECITEL OBJECTIVES
1) To create the conditions for a sustainable Teacher Academy Alliance;
2) To develop a framework of teachers competences;
3) To collaboratively develop learning modules and lessons plans;
4) To develop and distribute a toolkit for the creation of Urban Learning Ecosystems;
5) To study and test ways to quickly upscale good practice through existing teachers training networks;
6) To document and systemically evaluate the innovative practice generated in partner schools
